The story starts by Nancy saving a girl's life. Then Nancy finds out some furniture and a clock is missing because some thieves stole it and escaped in a van. The Topham family wants to get the money from Josiah Crowley's will. Also, they are trying to figure out if there is a second will and where to find it.

When they wanted to find out more information about Josiah Crowley and his will they went to a relative and she told about the notebook describing where the will is hidden. Nancy continues her search for the will and goes to a camp, meets new friends and boats across the lake to find more information about the will.

The story follows Nancy through exciting twists and turns as she tries to find out if there is a second will and who will get the money.
