Archaeological Resources for New Testament Studies (ARNTS) differs fundamentally from other slide collections. Together with 300 slides in each volume, it presents for each slide a one-page scholarly discussion with bibliographies for further reading and research. It fully informs even the uninitiated teacher about the issues in the interpretation of the archaeological data. In addition, a reference section covering the contents of both volumes with extensive indices of names of gods, heroes, and historical persons, as well as of ancient authors and inscriptions, and a glossary of archaeological terms permits the use of this resource far beyond a slide tour of an individual site.

The series concentrates on those areas of the ancient world that represent the cradle of the earliest formation and expansion of Christianity: Western Asia Minor, Greece, and Macedonia, including the cities of the missionary activities of the apostle Paul (Ephesos, Philippi, Athens, and Corinth), but also other important cultural and religious centers (Olympia, Isthmia).
